The BIG Futures Program is our career and college readiness initiative, designed to equip enrolled Community-Based Littles with the tools and resources needed to graduate high school on time and develop a post-graduation plan.
Whether their path includes college, vocational training, workforce entry or military service, the program offers personalized planning and support in career exploration, college admissions, financial aid, college applications, FAFSA completion and scholarship opportunities.
For Littles who are not pursuing college, we provide information about alternative paths, including vocational training, workforce opportunities, military service and programs such as Job Corps, AmeriCorps and Peace Corps, as well as trade schools and professional certification programs.
Program participants may be eligible for a Frank Gaeta Scholarship to help them achieve their post-high-school goals.
Since September 2024, we have partnered with Junior Achievement to help our Littles build essential life skills that will empower them to earn a living wage.
The program is overseen by Peter Kulevich, Director of College and Career Connection and a former Big Brother. Peter brings more than 20 years of experience in college counseling, admissions and student advising. He has served as Director of College Counseling at several leading private high schools in Southern California and currently consults with colleges during their admissions-reading and interview cycles.
Peter is a recipient of the College Board Distinguished College Counselor Award and the Counselor Recognition Award from the National Society of High School Scholars. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Institute on College Admissions and has completed intensive University of California and California State University programs focused on achieving exceptional results in college counseling.
